Warehouse Operative

Job Description

Summary

Silverfish are a well-respected UK based importer and distributor dealing with an extensive range of products including some of the finest bikes, components, clothing and accessory manufacturers in the world. Silverfish have been supplying performance driven products to the best bike shops in the UK since 1999 and as a company we continue to grow. We pride ourselves on our range of high quality products and the quality service we offer our customers.

Job Purpose

The successful applicant will carry out general warehouse duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

The specific duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

  • Receive incoming goods

  • To load and unload vehicles

  • Check incoming goods

  • Put away incoming goods

  • Pick goods for despatch

  • Pack goods for despatch

  • Process customer orders for despatch

  • Process returned goods

  • Process supplier returns

  • Moving and organising stock

  • Check and record stock levels

  • Book transport

  • Use manual handling equipment

  • Adhere to health, safety and security procedures

  • Keep work areas clean and tidy

  • Maintain required levels of customer service

  • To assist in other duties as reasonably requested by the Warehouse Manager

Skills and Experience
  • Experience of working in a similar role previously

  • GCSEs at Grade C or above in English and maths

  • Good level of numeracy, literacy and organisational skills

  • This role is physically demanding and you will be required to lift and move heavy packages and objects.

  • A good team player

  • Good timekeeping

  • Attention to detail

  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence desirable

Working Hours

Mon – Thu 0915-1730hrs Fri 0915-1430hrs (based on a 35.75 hour week)

Salary

UK Living Wage as applicable
