Sales Manager

Job Overview

To lead the Sales & Marketing function for Silverfish. To achieve and exceed sales targets agreed with the Directors.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager that has excellent business development, marketing and account management skills.

Working as the Sales Manager you will play a pivotal role in growing the Company's market share, both domestically and within Europe.

As the Sales Manager you will manage a Team of Sales Reps, Inside Sales Manager, and Marketing personnel such as Social Media / SEO and Graphic Designers. This will also include recruiting new key team members to enhance and strengthen the Sales and Marketing Team so that the Company's ongoing market share growth strategy is realised.

Reporting to:Managing Director

Duties and Responsibilities

The specific duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

  • Sales Strategy
  • In collaboration with the Managing Director set the annual sales targets by month for territories and brands.
  • Implementation of procedures, processes, reporting structure and schedules, and collating of reports for monthly management meeting.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day and long term Management and Development of the current Sales team.
  • Create a Sales Plan Document for the financial year to set out the actions to enable the achievement of the Annual Sales Targets.
  • Work closely with the Sales Support Manager to set KPI's for Internal Sales Team.
  • In collaboration with the Managing Director create the product price list for the season.
  • Work closely with the Brand Marketing Managers to ensure sales and marketing activities are co-ordinated to maximise sales.
  • Oversee the organisation of the Sales Meetings and lead the content.
  • Oversee the organisation of sales events and trade shows in the UK and overseas.
  • To line manage and lead the UK & Europe Sales Teams, Brand Marketing Managers and the Sales Support Manager to maximise their motivation and performance.
  • Support the UK & Europe Sales Team with customer visits and other sales initiatives.
  • Identify gaps in the existing product ranges or potential growth markets and make recommendations to the Managing Director.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and the Sales Support Manager on the management of the House Accounts in order to maximise sales.
  • Work closely with the Sales Support Manager to devise and implement sales promotions and ensure that they are clearly communicated internally and externally to customers through the marketing team.
  • Identify needs and oversee the organisation of training and development for the sales and marketing department staff teams.
  • Attend and have input into the monthly Management Meetings.

  • An in depth knowledge of Mountain Biking and Road Racing.

  • Educated to degree level. .

Salary and Benefits

The salary - very competitive - dependent on level of skills and experience.

The holiday entitlement is 22 days per annum

The Company operates a pension scheme, contributing 3% of your annual salary.

Apprentice in Warehousing & Storage

Reporting to: Logistics Manager

Job Overview

This is a 12 month contract for a Warehousing & Storage Apprenticeship Level 2.

With a Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Distribution, you will be qualified to the level of a warehouse operator.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in warehousing and distribution.

The Apprenticeship will be run in conjunction with Cornwall College.

Duties and Responsibilities

The specific duties of this post will include, though not be limited to:

  • To load and unload vehicles
  • Check in and put away incoming goods
  • Process customer orders for despatch
  • Process returned goods
  • Moving and organising stock
  • Check and record stock levels
  • Book transport
  • Use manual handling equipment
  • Adhere to health, safety and security procedures
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy
  • Maintain required levels of customer service
  • To assist in other duties as reasonably requested by the Warehouse Manager


Our ideal apprentice has great communication skills so you can deal with colleagues & customers in a polite and friendly manner both face to face and over the phone.

You will need to be aged 16 or over, have a minimum of 2 GCSEs at Grade C (ideally in English and maths, a good level of numeracy, literacy and organisational skills, be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy packages and objects, be able to work in a team paying attention to detail and have good timekeeping skills.

Our perfect apprentice is keen to learn lots of new skills. We can rely on you completely to always arrive at work on time, with the right attitude to work hard, listen well and carry out all tasks that are asked of you quickly and efficiently. You work well in team as you a have positive, polite and friendly manner and a good sense of humour. You ask questions when necessary and you take feedback well as you understand that will improve your performance. Once you have received the necessary training you are able to work alone without assistance as you have a proactive approach and you are able to use your own initiative. You take care over your work, ensuring everything you do is accurate, and you have the patience and attention detail to be able to update records on our computer system. As there can be elements of the role that require the movement of heavy parts you have a good level of strength and physical fitness. You always approach problems with a positive attitude and look for ways to solve them, rather than see obstacles. You are enthusiastic and driven to develop your career and earn your apprenticeship qualification.

Mon - Thu 0915-1730hrs Fri 0915-1430hrs

Weekly Wage

£2.68 per hour (this is the National Minimum wage for anyone attending their first year in the Apprenticeship scheme)
