Warehouse Operations Manager

Job Description

Summary

This role is a combination of both management and supporting the team in the day to day running of a busy and growing warehouse. The role will be to manage a cost effective & efficient warehouse operation, ensure manning & equipment levels are maintained to ensure full warehouse operation with particular emphasis on following company procedure. The candidate will have a strong background in Warehouse Management in a fast pace environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Oversea the day to day operation of the warehouse ensuring that efficiency and performance is paramount at all times.

  • Ensuring that all orders are despatched in a timely manner using the most cost effective method without compromising customer service.

  • Ensure that all goods arriving are checked and processed in a timely manner.

  • Manage, organise and motivate a small warehouse team to ensure that productivity and targets are met.

  • Communicate effectively with other departments, external agencies and customers.

  • Ensure that warehouse stock is managed and located correctly with any stock discrepancies being investigated, processed and recorded in accordance to company operating procedures.

  • Optimise the Warehouse Business process, with a focus on improving quality, efficiency and speed.

  • Responsible for the Health & Safety of the warehouse.

  • Work with other departments on business improvement projects.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • A track record in Warehouse Management, along with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.

  • Stock Control, Stock taking and discrepancy investigate and reconciliation.

  • Knowledge of Inventory Management and ERP Systems.

  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise complex tasks under pressure.

  • Strong time management and analytical skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety.

  • Attention to detail

  • Good MS Office (Excel/Word)

Desirable:

  • A good working knowledge of Defacto (ERP)

  • Forklift License.

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Health & Safety.

Terms and Conditions

Salary would be in the range £23,000 - £25,000 per annum depending on experience

Mon – Thu 0915-1730hrs Fri 0915-1430hrs (based on a 35.75 hour week)

22 Days (paid) holiday

The Company operates a pension scheme, contributing 3% of your annual salary
