Spiuk's 2013 road shoe range has landed in our warehouse this year Spiuk have completely revamped their cycling shoe range with only their budget conscious ZS22 shoe remaining the same. Their flagship road shoe this year is the carbon soled ZS15RC weighing an outstanding 470g with a RRP of £169.95. However if you're not averaging 400watts on each climb or even 200 come to think of it, then you might be interested in their midrange offerings the ZS15R and the Brios shoes.

Spiuk Brios Road Shoe

Spiuk's Brios road shoe comes in two colour ways of white and red, weighing a competitive 645g with both velcro and ratchet fastenings your feet are sure to feel secure yet free.

What's in the box?

In the box you get the shoes (obviously), spare ratchet straps, instructions on how to thermo mould the shoes and finally some interchangeable seasonal insoles. Meaning you can change the shoes insoles depending upon the season/temperatures.

Thermo Mouldable Shell you say?

Spiuk's high end shoes contain the ability to be moulded to the users feet to give an excellent fit and thus preventing any rubbing and most importantly limiting energy waste from your feet as they are prevented from moving around. A procedure which was once reserved for the world's elite is now as simple as putting them in your oven for 20min at 60 and then wearing them whilst warm for a further 15min.

Other features

The shoes sole has the great feature of multiple cleat options, most notably standard SPD cleat holes making it a great shoe for those of us who use their CX bikes for both road and off road use, or if you simply like the feel other cleats offer. Finally these shoes feature Spiuk's redesigned ratchet system which keep things simple one lever to tighten the other to loosen.

Spiuk ZS15R

Being one step down from Spiuk's flagship road shoe, Spiuk's ZS15R packs some great features in its £109.95 package. Most notably its disc security mechanism, lightweight (705g) and great colour ways of Red, White and Black meaning you're sure to find a colour which will match your kit. It also matches some of the features found on the Brios such as the interchangeable insoles and thermo mouldable case.

Like the Brios these shoes also feature the same sole setup meaning you can run an array of different cleat options depending upon your preferred system. Did we mention they look good?!

As these two shoes are competitively priced we believe they'll make great Christmas/Birthday presents or just an easy way of achieving an elite ride without the added cost. Also worth noting both of these shoes come in MTB specific options as well in the ZS15M and Risko.
