Description 2011 XC Hardtail

The evolution of Rocky Mountain's signature race hardtail, Vertex has already been piloted to World Cup victories by Geoff Kabush and Marie-Helene Premont. Vertex features Rocky Mountain's proven race geometry in a super light and stiff package. The Vertex alloy frame features a completely redesigned FORM tubeset, Shimano Direct Mount front derailleur mount, and BB92 bottom bracket shell.

ST3 Geometry

Mountain's tried and true sloping top tube geometry gives the riders ample standover height and a short wheelbase for nimble handling in technical terrian.

Custom FORM Tubes

New custom S-bend seatstays that are circular at the seat tube junction and flare to a rectangular shape at the dtopout. Circular shaped tubes are best when strength is required in all planes and rectangular tube shapes at the dropouts are best for fatigue strength.

Larger Tube Junction

By using a BB92 BB shell, Rocky are able to increase the size of the down tube/ seat tube junction, which increases stiffness without adding weight. Similarly, the new larger diameter head tube on the Vertex allows for larger junctions with the top and down tubes, further increasing stiffness and strength.
