Pure Race Technology

Racing has evolved considerably over the years. While some racers want pure World Cup performance, others want a bike that can tackle gnarly all-day epic racing. The Element RSL (98mm travel) and MSL (120mm travel) share DNA but their geometry and spec reflect their intended use; RSL has more aggressive race oriented geometry and the MSL has slightly more relaxed angles for those all-day epic adventrues. using Rocky mountain's proprietary technologies like ABC Pivots and SmoothWall carbon construction, Element RSL and MSL represent the pinnacle of mountain bike technology.

Light and Stiff

Not only is the new frame 678 grams lighter than its predecessor, the Element RSL also leads the industry in weight and stiffness. Total frame weight with shock is 1,960 grams with a 52% increase in stiffness to weight.

SmoothLink Suspension

Rocky Mountain's own proven and patented SmoothLink suspension system sets the standard for pedaling efficiency.

ABC Pivots

Rocky's patent pending Angular Busing Concept pivots are 20 grames lighter (per pivot) and 105% stiffer than sealed cartridge bearings. They also more duarable too!

Full Carbon Construction

Almost everything is constructed from carbon, just 3 grams of aluminium in the upper shock mount. The Element RSL and MSL features Rocky's SmoothWall carbon construction which results in a perfectly smooth interior surface with no stress risers of excess material.

BB92

Allows for a larger BB/down tube junction which increases lateral stiffness without compromising on weight.

E-type Front Derailleur

By using the E-Type front derailleur standard Rocky created the absolute lightest and stiffest swingarm configuration.

Two Chain Suck plates

Since carbon fiber and bike chains do not get along Rocky have integrated two chain suck plates into the frame. One is molded into the chainstay and one on the bottom of the down tube.

Titanium Hardware on RSL

Integrated Sag Indicator

A simple glance at the upper rocker pivot will let you know if you are set-up correctly.
