The overall RX appearance is very similar to the R1/One family, complete with ambidextrous twin-bolt clamp master cylinder. It's slightly bulkier though which, when added to the fact it has steel rather than alloy fixtures, means a 42g weight gain over the One. It's not quite as powerful as the R1, but it's less fragile and nearly £100 cheaper.

The lever feel is very similar too, with a smoothly squeezed control of consistent and very well-modulated power. Alpine use hasn't phased it either and at 400g it's a real all-rounder trail brake contender, especially now that it's in the hands of a bigger distributor, because spares should now be more readily available.
