Formulas RX brakes quite often get missed out when it comes to review time however race magazine Shred have given us the following review:

Everyone has raved about the Formula R1 brake, every journo in the land has claimed a pair for test and whacked off about how great they are, using words like 'benchmark' and 'top shelf'. The RX is the kind of brake that little magazines like Shred get sent - they are cheaper and easier for the marketing dept to justify sending out the door (cough cough). I've ridden the R1 brake and it is a great piece of kit, the RX is like an R1 but £100 less. They are around 70 grams heavier per brake unit than the R1 and they lack some of the high end features of the R1 but this still puts them inline with most of the top end brakes from Avid and Shimano, on a 160 rotor they feel great, on a 180 rotor you struggle with the negative g-force, I don't ever want to ride a 203mm rotor unless its on a big, fat hog of a DH bike. In short they are fantastic set of brakes, a solid workhorse at a great price and the kind of product we love.

Full review can be read in issue 55 of Shred online or in your LBS
