The Yeti 4X Team have been hard at work and appear to have had a rough ride of it over the past few weeks, Boom Boom has suffered with an injured shoulder and their chosen transport came down with a bad case of flooded ECU! Read on to get the full race report...

We are eventually home from the 4X World Championships. It was a tough week. In qualifying Scott’s chain snapped just 3 turns into his run and he had to pump and tuck all the way to the finish. It was a tough break for Scott and he qualified 29th. Dave, in his first 4X World Championships had a great run and qualified in 41st to ensure that both riders made it into the main event.

In racing, Dave raced really well and did himself, the team and Great Britain proud finishing in 41st position. It was a great experience for Dave and he will be back next year to challenge again.

Scott was on fire. His snapped chain in qualifying and consequential gate 4 starting position all night were a real disadvantage, but Scott was making it work. Winning his races up to the semi final. Scott went into turn 1 in 2nd and unfortunately got hit wide into the fencing. The crash was huge and Scott unfortunately hurt his shoulder pretty bad.

He had to regroup and get back to the start for the small final. A good gate and a finish position of 2nd in that race meant he finished 6th in the 2014 World Championships. He was pretty gutted about the result but moving up from 29th in qualifying, using the outside gate all night and finishing 6th was something pretty impressive.

All packed up and ready to leave Leogang, and the team truck wouldn’t start. By Thursday it was diagnosed that the ECU had water in it!!! A new ECU and a race across Europe the team went to round 3 of the Gravity Enduro Series. Dave had a great day finishing 19th. It was an awesome ride and in challenging hot conditions on a track that resembled more of a marathon race than enduro, this result was great for Dave.

Scott competed in qualifying but simply could not hold on due to the shoulder injury sustained in Leogang.

The team are now on their way to Italy for round 4 of the 4X ProTour. Full report next week.
