Well what a great weekend for the team and a perfect way to end what has been an incredible season. Yesterday the team were at Leamington for the Schwalbe British 4x Series finals. This was the 7th and final round of the series that has travelled all around the UK. Scott and Dave were both racing and both had goals for the day. Scott after only racing in 4 rounds so far, needed a good result here to take the 2014 elite men’s title. Dave was in a fight for the overall too, sat in 5th coming into the event but with the scores being close, he was looking for a podium in the race to get in the top 5 overall.

Practice started at 10 and on Scott’s first lap he had a crash. At slow speed, he made a mistake and crashed over the bars. Luckily, he did not injure his already broken coccyx. A heart stopping moment but he was good to continue for the rest of the day. Both Scott and Dave were looking fast by the time the motos rolled around.

Dave had a frustrating set of motos and by the time the finals rolled around he was in the small final fighting for 5th. He made a good gate and into turn 1 he was in 2nd. Working the track in the last turn he went for the pass and made it stick. Grabbing the win, this gave Dave 5th for the day and the final step of the podium.

Scott was looking good. With 3 wins in his motos, Scott had the first gate pick in the final. With his back injury, his gates were certainly below his normal standards, but once he got going his power seemed to be as good as ever. Taking gate 1 for the final, he gambled on making a good gate so he would not get squeezed in on the inside. Under pressure, he made the gate and did not look back. Taking the win from start to finish, it was enough for Scott to retain the Elite men’s British 4X Series title. This is the 8th time Scott has won the British 4X Series title and from the look on his face this one meant just as much as all the others.

So that’s it for another season. We have a few edits from recent races that are going to be released over the coming weeks so I will forward them on to you as they are released.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors for your help in supporting the team in the 2014 season. It has certainly been one to remember and we look forward to working with you all again in 2015. With most of you already signed up to the team for 2015, we are already looking forward to an even better season next year.

Congratulations to Scott and the team on an exciting and eventful season.
