Galfer, a global leader in high-performance brakes and friction materials, has named Silverfish UK as its exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland. This partnership expands Galfer’s mission to bring race-proven braking performance to more riders than ever before.

Kashima coating on a brake rotor sounds odd, but Galfer has done just that. Used only on the inner section of its new two-piece Shark EVO V3 rotor, Kashima doesn’t touch the braking surface and is now making the jump from motorcycle racing to MTB.

Galfer produces rotors, pads, and mounting hardware for mountain, road, and gravel bikes. Their EU website lists 36 different rotors, while the US site offers 86 different brake pads, highlighting the brand’s wide range of options for riders seeking reliable stopping power across disciplines.

Earlier this year I brought a Trek Fuel EX8 into the shed as a long-term test bike. After thoroughly enjoying the Trek Fuel EX 9.9 AXS last year, I knew this platform deserved plenty more trail time to explore its capabilities and see how it handled real-world riding over months.

Known mainly for their aftermarket pads and rotors, Spanish brand Galfer now seems to be developing a full brake system. They teased the project at Milan’s EICMA motorcycle show earlier this month, showcasing a polished prototype at their booth and hinting at a complete new product line.
