ARMEGA SP25
HPR40 - Designed To Disappear. Engineered To Perform. Became More Than We Ever Planned.

E-ROAD IS NOT A THING
Although e-bikes have long been standard in MTBs, trekking and city bikes, the road sector has so far remained virtually untouched. So TQ asked themselves:
WHY NOT?
THERE'S REAL POTENTIAL!
1. It's not the price. Because road riders see the potential in technology.
2. It's not the demand. Because road cycling has been a popular sport since Corona at the latest.
3. Nor is it the need. Because many would like some support.
THE ACTUAL PROBLEM
1. The ride feel. Conventional e-drives distort the kinematics of the bikes and the response behaviour when pedalling.
2. The design. Roadies are aesthetes. E-systems are bulky and the clean, sleek design suffers.
3. The 25 km/h limit. Beyond that, the e-system becomes a burden. The support ends exactly where many tours really begin.
BOTTOM LINE:
The need is there, but there are too many compromises for support that gets limited.
POTENTIAL ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH. A REAL PRODUCT IS MISSING HERE.
As self-confessed bike nerds, TQ asked themselves what they love about riding a road bike:
The feeling of getting out and experiencing something. And group rides. Setting off together, arriving together. Sharing performance and experiences. Standing at the top of the pass, laughing together, rewarding each other.
But in reality, this is exactly what fails again and again.
It still works on the flat. But as soon as it goes uphill, the group tears apart. Differences in performance become insurmountable, the shared experience falls apart.
The irony:
It is precisely during these uphill moments that the speed drops below 25 km/h - the range in which the motor could actually help. Above 25 km/h, however, the assistance is less crucial. That's when it counts: Lightweight, aerodynamic,
The ideal e-system would consequently have to provide support exactly where it is needed and disappear when it is not needed.
- What if an e-drive could do all that?
- Without being visible, without being disruptive, without changing the riding experience?
- What if assistance worked so seamlessly that it felt like your own power?
INTRODUCING THE TQ-HPR40. THE ROAD TO EVOLUTION
THE FIRST SYSTEM THAT WAS SPECIFICALLY DEVELOPED FOR ROAD BIKE NEEDS.
Based on HPR technology, which established a new category in MTB with the HPR50.
Created by the engineers who set a benchmark for e-drives 10 years ago with the HPR120 - unrivalled power to this day.
Now: HPR40 - a completely new system with innovative components and integration on a new level. TQ-HPR40. E-ROAD WAS NOT A THING.
WHAT IS THE HPR40 IN DETAIL?
A COMPLETELY NEWLY DEVELOPED E-SYSTEM - UNCOMPROMISINGLY MADE FOR THE ROAD BIKE EXPERIENCE.
At the heart of the system is a drive that accompanies, rather than dominates. So compact that it disappears into the frame. So light and quiet that you forget it's there. So sensitive that it carries you along without being obtrusive.
The rest also remains in the background: a slim battery in the down tube, a remote under the handlebar tape, a display discreetly integrated into the end of the handlebars. Technology that disappears. Only the riding experience remains visible.
Thanks to Harmonic Pin Ring technology, TQ have built the most compact, efficient mid-motor system ever to be found in a bicycle.
And they've taken it even further:
- Intelligent sensor technology that understands your pedalling.
- Adaptive software that adjusts to your pedalling.
- Full integration for gears, lights, GPS etc. - powered by a single battery.
- Rides and feels like a classic road bike - only further, longer, higher
- The HPR40 is not just a new motor. It's a new way of riding a road bike. The TQ-HPR40. Only advantages. No disadvantages.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- SMALLEST, LIGHTEST, QUIETEST E-SYSTEM
- EXTREMELY EFFICIENT
- HIGHEST TORQUE DENSITY ON THE MARKET
- NATURAL RIDE FEEL AT A NEW LEVEL
- INVISIBLE INTEGRATION THAT DISAPPEARS INTO THE FRAME
- SUPPLY AND INTEGRATION OF THIRD-PARTY SYSTEMS *
- COMPRESSED TO THE ESSENTIALS FOR A PURE RIDING EXPERIENCE
- A SOLUTION FOR EVERYTHING THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY NOT POSSIBLE WITH E-ROAD
INTEGRATION NEXT LEVEL. UNPRECEDENTED ADDED VALUE!
INVISIBLY INTEGRATED. OPEN FOR EVERYTHING: OUR THIRD-PARTY INTEGRATION
TQ’s drive system sets new standards in terms of integration: the motor, battery, remote and display are integrated more invisibly than any other system on the market. Minimalist in appearance, maximum naturally and efficient in riding feel.
But for TQ, integration means more than just design. It means flexibility and proper system connectivity. Almost all electrically powered components - regardless of manufacturer - can be supplied directly from their battery via open interfaces. Gear shifting, lighting, sensors or other peripherals: they all benefit from a central, intelligently controlled energy source.
The advantage: no more cable or battery management. No need to worry about empty individual batteries. TQ’s battery always has a reserve ready so that all systems function reliably - even on long tours.
THIRD-PARTY-INTEGRATION IN A NUTSHELL
TQ’s system intelligently powers and links with their own components and with those of other brands, allowing them all to operate as a cohesive system.
- Motor control directly via SRAM or Shimano hood buttons.
- Electronic gear shifting systems integrated into the TQ system.
- Lights operated directly and continuously via the TQ battery.
- Power and data transmitted via ANT+ directly to the onboard computer.
- A separate power meter becomes obsolete.
- Open interfaces make the TQ system flexibly expandable and open up completely new, previously unimagined possibilities.
PRODUCT BENEFITS
LIKE CYCLING. JUST BETTER.
Its unobtrusive support, imperceptible weight, natural response and invisible integration make the HPR40 the perfect companion for all those who want to make riding easier but do not want to compromise on the riding experience or the aesthetics of their bike.
The HPR40 combines all the advantages of an analog bike without the disadvantages of an e-bike.
Bikes with TQ look and ride like analog bikes. They offer exactly the support you need - without unnecessary distractions, ballast or resistance.
Unlike conventional e-systems, the HPR40 does not impose itself on you, but supports you so harmoniously that you hardly notice the assistance - except for how effortless riding feels.
No unnecessary weight, no overloaded technology - just pure riding pleasure, reduced to the essentials.

*200 WATTS POWER. MAY NOT SOUND LIKE MUCH?
IT'S WORTH TAKING A CLOSER LOOK.
In performance cycling, 200 watts is anything but little.
Sophia, an ambitious amateur athlete weighing 65 kg, pedals an average of 195 watts (3 W/kg).
Tadej Pogacar, a professional and Tour de France rider of the same weight, is at 357 watts (5.5 W/kg).
With the HPR40, Sophia gets 200 watts of support and is now pedalling at 395 watts (6W/kg).
Suddenly she is riding at eye level with Pogacar - without daily training and still has breath to chat on the mountain.
THAT SHOWS:
The HPR40 doesn't just have 200 watts. It raises an amateur athlete to the performance level of a professional.
HOW FAR CAN YOU GET WITH IT?
