A stealthy all-rounder

Today Yeti launched its second e-bike, the lighter weight MTe. While it cuts a fairly clean silhouette, it’s got a lot going on under the hood, including an all-new TQ motor, four-way progression adjustment, mixed wheel capability, and more.

This is one of those bikes where it’s very easy to get lost in the minutia, and focus on the details at the expense of the ride quality. So before we get into the nitty gritty: The MTe rides really well. It’s a very fun bike that can handle a wide range of terrain, and the new TQ HPR 60 drive unit is a noticeable upgrade over the old HPR 50 system.

TQ-HPR60 Motor Review on the All-New Yeti MTe | Lightweight eMTB Performance Test

What’s up, legend riders! In today’s ride, we’re diving deep into the brand-new TQ-HPR60 motor, tested on the stunning and lightweight Yeti MTe SL e-MTB. This is my first time on a Yeti electric mountain bike, and wow—what a machine. Minimalist design, big performance.

E-Mountain bike have awarded the Yeti Cycles 160E the ‘Best in Test’ accolade in their giant 2022 eMTB group test.

The prestigious annual test of the best eMTBs featured 13 models from a range of manufacturers including YT, Specialized, Trek, Orbea, Rocky Mountain, Scott, Merida and Focus.
