Modern short travel bikes are becoming increasingly capable and are being ridden on an entire spectrum of terrain – from XC race to Trail. XC racing has evolved, but there’s also a growing rider demographic looking to tackle aggressive descents with little bikes, amidst longer days of pedaling.

Bikes with up to 140mm travel are booming. Short travel is cool again.

We wanted a stem that would enable all short travel riders to tune their bike’s fit, handling and performance to align with their priorities. We also wanted to match their bikes’ versatility and allow riders to adapt their cockpit as priorities change... without forcing them to buy something new.

So we made the Turbine SL stem. And we made it flippable.

Riders at opposite ends of the short travel spectrum may have different needs.

Those who love a weekend XC race might use Turbine SL’s negative offset orientation, prioritising efficiency.

Riders on the sendy side might favour a positive offset, for pedaling comfort and descending confidence.

As rider priorities change, so can Turbine SL.

Turbine SL’s default orientation offers a -6mm offset from a conventional zero-rise stem. This gives riders better climbing control and pedaling power by prioritising efficiency.

In this orientation, the top of Turbine SL is completely flat, mimicking the aesthetic appeal of one-piece cockpits. It also creates an ideal option for cycling computers using an over-stem mount. No more jerry-rigging with boom stems or unsightly step-mounts and pivot points.
