New MICHELIN PRO5 Road Tyres: Ready to Go Further By Meeting ALL Your Needs

MICHELIN are excited to announce the latest updated and enhanced version of its popular PRO road tyre range.

Discover the new MICHELIN Pro5 road tyre for your demanding road rides. Engineered to last, this tyre delivers tremendous rolling speed and remarkable durability in comparison with its previous versions. Featuring Tubeless Ready technology, it provides an airtight experience and easy mounting for seamless riding. Available in a wide range of sizes from 28c through to 35c, and in black or classic sidewall versions, PRO5 delivers modern aesthetics, speed and exceptional value.

Key Technologies and Engineering

Benefiting from MICHELIN’s enormous research and development resources, PRO5 is part of the Competition Line range, offering road riders the maximum pleasure and performance for sports and recreational use.

Air Tightness Designed to enhance airtightness (1) and ease of mounting operation thanks to a revamped architecture design.

Increased Performance
Incredibly fast riding (2) thanks to the combination of the new Tubeless Ready design and Gum-X compound in comparison to the MICHELIN Pro4 Endurance.

Longevity
Designed with Bead-to-Bead Shield technology and an updated tread compound and pattern to enhance durability (3).

The tyre that allows for riding faster
Michelin has completely redesigned their Competition Line of road bicycle tyres, turning to advanced technologies. The result of this work is the NEW MICHELIN Pro5, a tyre for both training and competition, and designed for long distances. Significantly more efficient than its predecessor, the MICHELIN Pro4 Endurance, the new MICHELIN Pro5 boasts a 35% improvement in rolling resistance. This improvement is thanks to its new Tubeless Ready design, as well as its mix of MICHELIN Gum-X rubbers.

The tyre that provides both more comfort and more grip
By combining a new tread and wider cross-sections that range from 28 to 35 mm, the MICHELIN Pro5 has been developed to give cyclists maximum comfort, grip, and durability on both dry and wet surfaces. Its internal structure allows the cyclist to reduce the inflation pressure, thus increasing comfort when riding at all speeds.

The combination of the specific tread design and MICHELIN Gum X rubber provides excellent wet braking support (4), allowing the rider to concentrate on the training ahead, or confidence when racing.

Long life acknowledged by ultra-distance cyclists
An essential expectation of road cyclists is to ride for a long time without having to worry about their tyres. The MICHELIN Pro5 transforms this need into reality. Before going to market, the new Michelin tyre was validated under real conditions by all types of potential users: amateur cyclists who ride locally, ultra-distance enthusiasts, and professional racers. Consequently, the test covered over 100,000 km.

Long distance enthusiasts and fans of riding in all conditions will also appreciate the air sealing properties of the MICHELIN Pro5, which maintains a constant pressure on each outing. The more constant the tyre pressure, the lower the risk of wear. In fact, scientific measurements prove that the MICHELIN Pro5 is even more airtight than the MICHELIN Power Cup TLR.

(1) Air tightness test was conducted on a Michelin machine in September 2023, comparing the 28-622 MICHELIN Pro5 Black TS TLR and the 28-622 MICHELIN Power Cup Classic TS TLR. Additional performance tests were carried out in April 2024 at the independent testing laboratory Wheel Energy (Finland), comparing the same 28-622 MICHELIN Pro5 Black TS TLR and 28-622 MICHELIN Power Cup Classic TS TLR at identical pressures on the same wheel. All tests were performed using the same wheel and the same initial pressure. Results may vary under real-use conditions depending on road surfaces, riding intensity, and weather conditions.

(2) Rolling resistance tests were carried out in April 2024 at the independent testing laboratory Wheel Energy (Finland), comparing the same 28-622 MICHELIN Pro 5 Black TS TLR and 28-622 MICHELIN Pro 4 Endurance at identical pressures on the same wheel.

(3) Durability tests were carried out in April 2024 at the independent testing laboratory Wheel Energy (Finland), comparing the same 28-622 MICHELIN Pro 5 Black TS TLR and 28-622 MICHELIN Power Cup Classic TLR at identical pressures on the same wheel. All tests were performed using the same wheel and the same initial pressure. Results may vary under real-use conditions depending on road surfaces, riding intensity, and weather conditions.

(4) Wet braking: Wet braking test performed at the Wheel Energy independent test laboratory (Finland) on 12/04/2024, comparing a 28-622 MICHELIN Power Cup Classic TS TLR, a 28-622 MICHELIN PRO5 Black TS TLR and a 28-622 MICHELIN PRO4 Endurance Black TS. The tests were performed at the same pressure and on the same wheel, under the same grip conditions. The results may vary under real conditions of use, depending in particular on the road conditions, the road type, and the weather conditions.
