Review: Ride.io Takes A Look At The 100% Status Helmet

UK based Ride.io have been part of the UK race scene for years. As a result, they know a thing-or-two about quality product which performs well. Here they take a first look at the 100% Status full face helmet.
Tested by Ride.io
Last year, 100% brought us the Aircraft, a pimp carbon full facer, light in weight but heavier in cost. This year they are added to their range with the Status, a more wallet friendly option.

- Fibreglass shell
- Active cooling system
- Washable liner
- Compatible with inflatable emergency releasable systems
- Padded PU chinbar
- Adjustable visor
Out of the box this is a good looking lid. Our test helmet is “Midnight Meteor”, and there are also Black Meteor, D-Day white, D-Day yellow and Selecta Red colourways, and 6 sizes from 53cm all the way to 64cm options.
The carbon fibre of the Aircraft is switched for fibreglass to bring the price down, but the weight is still a respectable, around the 900g mark for the medium. The styling is borrowed from a toned-down aircraft, smoother angles and slightly tweaked venting.
The Status is comfy, fits well and looks slick. The first ride out in it was a wet, cold, mingfest smashing up some of North Wales’ finest brown pow. The liner is soft and comfortable, the cheek pads were bulkier than I was used to but within minutes I didn’t notice them. The big peak doesn’t feature in your eye-line when riding, and there is plenty of space and shaping for larger goggles like the 100% Racecraft. A great first impression from this budget full facer.
