What’s your name?
Adam
How long have you been with Silverfish?
Just over two years.
What is your job?
IT Manager.
What type of riding do you do?
Mostly trail riding, with a few trips to bike parks. I only climb for the descents, I’m not an XC rider. I’m lucky to be able to ride from my home on a mix of natural woodland trails, or up on Dartmoor. I also have Gawton Gravity Hub a few miles up the road. All great rides end at a pub. So not really one style of riding, I try and keep it varied. I will even occasionally put on lycra for a road ride.
What is your favourite trail?
It was Avalanche in to Fry Hard, or Krash at Tavi Woods, but the very unfriendly NIMBY’s have managed to get the whole place shut down for MTB riding. 30 years of local history all gone. Still looking for my perfect trail, if you’re out there, call me.
What made you pick this bike?
I was on an SB150, nicknamed “the skill compensator” by Silverfish buddies. I’d like to think that after 2 years on it my skill has increased a little. I’m probably dreaming. I wanted something a little lighter and more suited to the riding I do. I don’t race, I’m not a shredder, I am a very average trail rider. I wasn’t pushing the SB150 anywhere near its capability (I won’t take the 140 near it either), so felt like I could go for something a little lighter without sacrificing the capability of the bike. The SB140 will still be a skill compensator, I need all the help I can get.
Have you changed/added anything to your bike to suit your riding style?
To suit my riding style? A friend of mine said “you make style look weird”, and I’ve been called “Richie Poo”, so I hope I haven’t customised it to suit that style. Other than custom decals and FOX dials, the other parts are fairly standard for trail riding.
