What’s your name?
Rich Ford.
How long have you been with Silverfish?
Just shy of two years.
What is your job?
Digital Marketing Manager.
What type of riding do you do?
Mostly trail riding, with a few endruo races and bike park days thrown in. I generally ride close to my home on a mix of natural woodland trails, or up on the rockier bridleways of Dartmoor. Try to get back home to Wales whenever I can as there is so much on offer up there.
What is your favourite trail?
Hard to pick a favourite. Depends on the day, the weather, who I am riding with, and my mood!
What made you pick this bike?
140mm/160mm feels like the perfect balance for me and the riding I like to do here in the UK. I enjoy climbing as well as descending, so it was important for me to have a bike that can do both well. I have spent some time on a similar 29” bike over the past year or so and have loved it. Also, a sucker for a Sage green bike!
Have you changed/added anything to your bike to suit your riding style?
The bike is custom built from the frame, so most of the parts are chosen specifically for my style of riding. One of the big things for me is the CuschCore inserts. I love the way they feel on the trail. Running the XC up front helps to save some weight, while the Pro keeps things reliable out back. I also recently made the change to shorter bars and cranks, as I find this works better for the tighter, technical trails I tend to ride. Working really well so far.
